Magnetometry

"White Eagle" is the only three-dimensional helicopter magnetic gradiomètre with an horizontal separation of 10 metres. This structure unique in the industry could be configured with an horizontal separation every 2.5 meters to 10 meters and 5 meters vertically. "White Eagle" is therefore a system of choice for any heli-magnetic survey at close clearance, high resolution like unexploded ordinances (UXO).

The GSMP-35GAv7.0 gradiometer is one of the most advanced, high sensitivity airborne magnetometer solutions commercially available. The Airborne GSMP-35A Potassium Magnetometer, with either its sensor installed in a towed-bird airfoil, or in a tail-stinger airfoil, is a superb high‑resolution instrument, capable of making a total‑field magnetic measurement 20 times per second (standard) and 100 times per second (optional). This structure offers a vertical separation of 3 meters, 3.46 meter horizontal and longitudinal to 3.76 meter. The main advantage of this technique is that the magnetic field reconstructed from the horizontal and vertical gradients have better resolution than the conventional magnetic field measurement. In general, it is estimated that this method can increase the resolution from 30 to 33% (Hardwick, 1997) and therefore a substantial saving on the overall cost of the survey. The mesurement of gradients reduces much of the error from diurnal effect, since the gradients are not affected by it. Surveys will still be performed using a high sensitivity magnetic base station. Our last magnetometry system is installed at the end of a rigid "stinger" and is part of the aircraft structure. Magnetometers, GPS, fluxgate, laser and other sensors are installed inside the structure and allow us to fly at very low altitudes with better control of the flying height. We use this configuration with a compensation system that improves sensitivity and reduces background noise created by the magnetic effect of the aircraft. Eagle Geophysics has the "Suplemental Type Certificate" (STC) issued by Transport Canada for the installation of this equipment.

Spectral Gamma spectrometry and radiometry

The RS-500 from the company Radiation Solutions, with a volume of up to 16 liters will measure and analyze ground levels of uranium (U), Potassium (K) and Thorium (Th). The results of such acquisition shall be returned form of U, Th and K maps. The RS-500 supercedes all other airborne system due to the fact it utilizes advanced, leading edge DSP / FPGA * technologies, making all current available systems obsolete by a significant factor, thus placing the RS-500 in a class of it's own. The RS-500 is a fully integrated system that includes an individual Advanced Digital Spectrometer (ADS) for each crystal within the detector box. The ADS is a high resolution (1024 channel) gamma spectrometer that makes the measurement of both the naturally occurring and man made radioactive elements as transparent and automatic an operation as possible, with minimal interaction from the user.
